Butterfly by The Emmit Sisters

Butterfly by The Emmit Sisters

She lies awake at night

Drowning her worries in the light

Of the moon

A coyote's swoon

And the stars dance in her eyes

Reflections of light on the tears she cries

It feels too soon

To break from the cocoon

Oh the seeds we sow

Must break open in order to grow

Shed their skin

Allow light to breath in

Shed their skin

Allow forth what's within

She awakes with the new day

Swimming in the colors

As they sway across the unbound sky

How she wishes she could fly

She awaits the arrival of the rain

To wash away her fears, her sorrows and her pains

There's no turning back

The cocoon begins to crack

Oh the seeds we sow

Must break open in order to grow

Shed their skin

Allow light to breath in

Shed their skin

Allow forth what's within

Spread these wings

Let them sing

Let them rise

And let them fly

The time has come

The old day is done

It's time to see

That we are free

To let it be

To let it go

And let it grow

So let it go

And let it grow

Yes let them grow

These seeds you sow

Oh the seeds we sow

Must break open in order to grow

Shed their skin

Allow light to breath in

Shed their skin

Allow forth what's within

Shed your skin

Allow light to breath in

Shed your skin

Allow forth what's within

The sun comes in in rays

Blinding her eyes

And warming her face

She begins to sing

And opens one wing
